BYU Vocal Point member David Ross had been dating his girlfriend, Amber Perez, for 10 months, four of which he spent creating and perfecting a song about their story together. He titled the song, "Marry Me."

On Valentine's Day 2017, David told Amber he needed to run a quick errand before they went to dinner that evening. That's when Amber stumbled upon the trail of candles and rose petals that led into a room filled with lights and pictures of their time together. That's when the video started:

Though Amber swore that she would never cry when David proposed, she wasn't able to keep that promise as the video kept playing.

David and Amber met when they led a humanitarian trip to Ecuador in 2016. On April 29, 2017, they were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
