Young Mormons in Hunterdon study at 6 a.m., five days a week

Few subjects are compelling enough to motivate high school students to get up at 5 a.m. each day to attend an extra class before school begins.

But for 20 North Hunterdon, Hunterdon Central, Delaware Valley and Warren Hills high school students, learning about their religion is enough to make them do just that, attending religious instruction at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Red School House Road ward (congregation) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

And they do so without the help of caffeine, since the Mormon religion teaches that coffee and tea are addictive and harmful.
