LDS News Headlines: Scout Gives to children in Afghanistan Ben Inks, accompanied by his mother, Kim, recently spent a month in Afghanistan deliverin g humanitarian aid and baseball equipment that Ben gathered for his Eagle Scout project, "Operation Home Run.""Operation Home Run" began last October, when Kim saw a segment of ABC News that showed US troops teaching young Afghan boys how to play baseball. The public is invited to tour the newly completed Redlands California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The First Presidency of the Church has announced that an open house will begin on Saturday, 9 August 2003, and continue through Saturday, 6 September 2003, excluding Sundays. An agreement between My Family.com, Inc., the largest collection of genealogical records online, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which through FamilySearch™ manages the largest repository of genealogical records from around the world, allows researchers to more easily search for their ancestors who were living in the United States in 1880.
