"Power Connection" ![]() Hymn: "Praise to the Man" (Hymn 27) Scriptures: Isaiah 52:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:11; Alma 13:3; D&C 132:7, 45 Materials: • A toaster or other electrical device that needs to be plugged into a socket • A slice of bread Presentation: Start off with the unplugged toaster in front the students and tell them that you have been trying to make toast all day but haven't been able to figure out why it's not working. Place some bread ijn the toaster and act puzzled. Your students will easily see what is wrong and inform you that you need to plug in the toaster. Have them read Doctrine and covenants 132:45. Application: Just like you could not make toast because you were not plugged into the source of power, in order to use the priesthood, we must be tapped into the source of its power. It is useless unless we are plugged into its source of strength. Ask what the power source for the priesthood is. The Lord uses the priesthood, administrered by mortals to bless the lives of others. All priesthood holders need to be "plugged in" just like the toaster. Even though they may go through the motions, without the proper connection to the Spirit through obedience, the priesthood power line is broken. Encourage your students to live worthily to hold and receive the blessings of the priesthood.
