Pres. Hinckley Recovering Well After Surgery
LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley remained at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City on Monday, recovering from laparoscopic surgery to remove a cancerous growth from his colon. The 95-year-old leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been there since early last week. Hinckley's physicians "note that his progress is good," said LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter.
Forget dorms. A three-star hotel with a view of the Salt Lake Temple will be the new home for female students attending LDS Business College.
Select floors of the Plaza Hotel will become student housing this fall as the LDS Business College makes its transition from its present location to its new Triad Center campus in downtown Salt Lake City. The housing arrangement with the hotel will be used for at least a year and then evaluated.
