Daily Thought. . .

"If the Lord was meek and lowly and humble, then to become humble one must do what he did in boldly denouncing evil, bravely advancing rigtheous work, courageously meeting every problem, becoming the master of himself and the situations about him, and being near oblivious to personal credit. "

—Spencer W. Kimball (IE, August 1963, p. 636.)

"Identifying Differences in Marriage "

by Brent A. Barlow, Dealing with Differences in Marriage, 66-74.

I shared with you several differences that have emerged in my marriage. Some of these, Susan and I recognized immediately. With others, one or both of us had to acknowledge the differences as legitimate (getting out of the I'm-right- you're-wrong syndrome). And still others, we realized only after consciously trying to identify some things we couldn't quite put our fingers on at first. The point is, before we can work on reconciling our differences, we must first know what they are. Quite a few of them may be minor, which we can just choose not to let bother us, and a number of them may be major, requiring a couple's joint efforts to reconcile them. Differences must be identified and acknowledged by both husband and wife before they can be dealt with.

Health Tip

by Melanie Douglass, R.D., CPT, author Tip-a-Day Guide for Healthy Living

"Appreciate Your Body"

Your Body Is Divine . . .
With 206 sturdy bones,
more than 650 dynamic muscles,
12 perfectly synchronized organ systems,
and over 10,000,000,000,000 (trillion) life-giving human cells.

Your Body is Miraculous . . .
Every day your heart beats over 103,000
times, your respiratory systems powers 25,920 breaths, your body produces a consistent 98.6 degrees of heat, and your body produces almost 200 billion new blood cells each day.

And That’s Just the Beginning . . .
Every day your mind, body, and spirit work together to give you the fortitude to fulfill family, church, work, and community obligations. You take good care of everyone else; it’s time to take care of you.

Make a promise to yourself—right now—that you will appreciate your body as the precious gift from God it was meant to be. Satan is jealous of your physical body because he doesn’t have one—and he’ll continually try to seduce you to abuse, neglect, and despise yours. Don’t let him.
