Talking About Technology in the Church

Since the formation of the Church, technology has played an important role in its progress. The Prophet Joseph Smith utilized the technology of his day—newspapers—through advances in printing presses. Under President Heber J. Grant, Music and the Spoken Word made use of the radio. And President Gordon B. Hinckley continues to employ technological advances to spread the gospel across the globe.

Lesotho Doctor Credits Training in Saving Life

Dr. Bulane was one of 50 healthcare providers trained in neonatal resuscitation techniques in June 2006 by a volunteer team of six doctors from Humanitarian Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each local physician in turn trained an additional 250 birthing attendants in the newly-learned techniques. Twenty-four hospitals in Lesotho were represented at the neonatal resuscitation training. Additionally, Humanitarian Services donated 10 training sets, 70 English textbooks, and 150 sets of basic resuscitation equipment.
