A Romantic Dinner for Two

by Kiku Beaufort
Sometimes the biggest worry of Valentine’s Day is trying to prepare the perfect dinner for the one you love. But there’s no need to fret. From appetizer to dessert, we’ve put together a delicious, yet simple menu that, combined with candlelight, will create a beautiful, romantic setting.
Cranberry Brie Crisps
* ¾ cup whole cranberry sauce
* Half of one puff pastry, thawed flat
* 4 ounces brie, sliced into 1-inch segments
* Slivered almonds
Cut the thawed puff pastry into 3-inch squares. Using a mini muffin tin, press the pastry into the bottom of each cup. Place one piece of the sliced brie on top of the pastry, and top with approximately one tablespoon of cranberry sauce. Sprinkle some slivered almonds on top. Bake at 375° F for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the pastry is slightly browned. Cool before serving. Makes about 10 crisps.
Garlic-and-Cheese Bread Twists
* Frozen roll dough, thawed but still cold
* ¼ cup butter, softened
* ¼ cup mayonnaise
* 1/3 cup grated parmesan
* 1 ¼ tsp garlic salt
* 1 tbsp parsley flakes
* 2 tsp sesame seeds
Roll each roll into a 12-14 inch rope. Fold in half and twist together. Mix together remaining ingredients. Brush tops and sides of twists with mixture. Place twists on a large cookie sheet prepared with non-stick spray. Cover and let rise until double. Bake at 375° F for about 12-15 minutes.
