Spoofs, Sobbers, and Studies Round Out This Year's LDS Film Festival

This Year's LDS Film Festival PosterLast weekend, the 8th Annual LDS Film Festival wrapped up, having aired 15 feature films, 20 short films, and 22 special screenings (including documentaries and other non-fiction films).

Among the entries was “Dusk” (directed by Spanky Ward), a spoof on Twilight and one of the 41 short films entered in the 24-hour film festival entry (films that were shot in only 24 hours a week before the festival began). Though it won only an honorable mention, it won viewer’s choice for comedy.

What’s more, people are joining the club every day. Pogopalooza VI will take place in Pennsylvania this August, and is “threatening to be huge,” said Dave Armstrong, one of the people credited with creating the sport.

The event will originate from the Gordon B. Gary Ernest Smith Art Display

The religious art of Gary Ernest Smith will be on display at Brownstone Gallery, with an open house and artist signing on February 27 from 7-9 pm.  This presentation will include never-before-seen original paintings and sketches.  For the first time, Smith's art will be available for purchase as fine art prints on canvas.  Brownstone Gallery is located at 3330 N University Avenue in Provo.
