Vote for Joseph Smith as the Greatest American!

Joseph Smith has been listed among the top 100 Greatest Americans to ever live by the Discovery Channel and AOL. He is nominated among others like Christopher Reeve, Helen Keller, Abraham Lincoln, Oprah Winfrey, Rosa Parks and more. Earlier this year people nominated up to 5 people they say most influenced the way they live, work and think. More than half a million nominations were submitted in all, with 35,000 different people receiving nominations.

The Discovery Channel will be airing a four part series on the Greatest American begining on June 5th. Following each episode viewers can cast their votes to help narrow the list.


June 5th: Premiere Episode
Begining at 8 pm (ET) on the Discovery Channel
Presenting the top 100 nominees

June 12th: Episode 2
Begining at 9 pm (ET) on the Discovery Channel
Actors, comedians, polititions, etc. will offer insights into the top 25

June 19th: Episode 3
Begining at 9 pm (ET) on the Discovery Channel
Advocates face off in debate to support their candidates.
Top 5 revealed

June 26th: Final Episode
Broadcasted live from New York begining at 9 pm (ET) on the Discovery Channel
The top 5 finalists are highlighted
