'1940s Club' - Santa Monica Ward celebrates 16th census
LDS Church News - Gasoline cost 11 cents a gallon, the Jeep was invented, Mickey Rooney reigned at the box office and Joe DiMaggio hit .352. It was 1940, also the year of the United States' 16th census. As Church members throughout the nation work to index this record, members of the Santa Monica 2nd Ward, Los Angeles California Santa Monica Stake, challenged one another to each index 1,940 names in a month.
