Church Announces Presiding Bishop from Europe
LDS Living - On Friday, October 9, the Church announced that Gérald Caussé was called as the new presiding bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Caussé is the first presiding bishop of the Church from France, and the third born outside of the United States. Charles Wilson Nibley, the fifth presiding bishop, was born in Hunterfield, Midlothian, Scotland, and Victor Lee Brown, the 10th presiding bishop, was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Bishop Caussé will be the 15th presiding bishop in the Church, continuing the pattern of every fifth presiding bishop coming from outside the United States.
