Mitt Romney’s Chances Look Good The ever-present question of whether a ‘Mormon’ could be president seems to be finding its way to an answer. Mitt Romney’s possible presidential candidacy is the subject of a new MSNBC poll. People who visit the MSNBC website can vote on the question: “Would you vote for a Mormon for president?”

So far the results are clearly in the affirmative.

Out of approximately 110,000 people who voted, ninety-three percent indicated “yes,” they would vote for a Mormon candidate. Only six percent indicated “no,” and two percent chose the option “I’m not sure.”

Mitt Romney has not yet announced his intent to pursue a presidential campaign, but it is widely speculated that he will do so in January 2007 when he leaves the Massachusetts gubernatorial office.
