Easing concerns for couple missionaries

In Primaries around the world, the song “I Hope They Call Me on a Mission” reverberates down the hallway. We want our young people to become missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but what about our parents and grandparents, who are fondly referred to as “senior couples"?

In the October 2010 general conference, President Thomas S. Monson directed some of his comments to mature couples.

“We need many, many more senior couples," he said.

So, the call has gone out again. But for senior couples, the questions seem to rise much more quickly and vigorously than for young men and women.
