MR says: The public has clearly misunderstood tithing payment, turning his faith-based donations into a political problem. It's too bad.

A person Tithing belongs to the ones that are faithful and believers of Christ, and we all should be paying out tithing. Mitt Romney tithing belongs to him his family and his church. Tithing accounts for helping others like in humanitarian when there is floods, tornados or a family home burns down, or children and parents abroad, humanitarian covers a huge area, and Mitt Romney 10% (as the bible request) of his earning helps thousand of those in need. Have you help other through paying your requested tithing? I pay mine.

Of course, the payment of tithing is a personal matter--and is usually confidential, except in this political context where charitable giving, along with everything else, becomes fodder for conflict and sometimes misrepresentation. A story in TIME gives a fair and accurate version of the facts in connection with this year's candidates: http://swampland.time.com/2012/04/13/is-mitt-romney-really-more-charitable-than-barack-obama/
