Jennifer Thompson
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jennifer Polley Thompson received her BA in art from Brigham Young University. After many years and five children, she decided it was time to go back to the studio. Her vivid still lifes and florals are painted directly from the flowers she cultivates in her garden. Though she views herself a little “old fashioned” in her focus on florals, others view her work as fresh and bold! Jennifer now works from her home studio in Orem, Utah.

A surprising number of physically and emotionally disabled Mormon emigrants attempted to cross the plains to Zion. Mormon emigrant companies probably had a higher percentage of disabled people than non-Mormon companies, because of the Latter-day Saints’ belief in priesthood power. Presenter Bryce Fifield tells of the sick, wounded, lame, and blind whose stories shed light on the broader cultural narrative of the Latter-day Saints. Admission is free.
