MR says: Mormon officials have permitted church leaders to encourage voting, but have stressed that it not be done in a partisan fashion.

In a provocative move within a religious organization that has sought to display strict political neutrality, an official of the Mormon church has disseminated a presentation across the key swing state of Nevada that urges members to vote and speak "with one voice" in the coming Presidential election that pits Mormon Mitt Romney against President Barack Obama.

"Any Mormon would understand exactly what's being said there," said Randall Balmer, a Dartmouth religion professor who has studied the church's handling of Romney's presidential bids. "This is very thinly coded language."

In my recent meeting with the High Council, our Stake Pres. said that the 1st Presidency sent a letter to all Bishops nationwide telling them to read the statement on political neutrallity, but also to explain that the Church encourages members to actively be involved with the campaign of whichever canidate you happen to favor. The reason for this letter being sent was that some members have gotten the idea that the Church's stand on political neutrality means we should not help with campaigns other than to vote on election day. I have not heard the letter read yet. Have any of you heard about this?

This article is so grasping at nothing. I vote for morals and goodness and free agency and liberty, and freedom and minimal government and honesty can I say that? I don't vote for collectivism, I vote for hard work and self esteem to much of a give me society! I don't know how people can vote for people that support abortion and take away freedom of speech, right to bare arms and freedom of religion and all of the rest. I can't vote for a President that hides all of his past and everything in his past is questionable no one really knows who the President is this is dishonest same as not telling the truth still a lie.
