Welcome To Historic Nauvoo

Nauvoo's beautiful historic homes, mercantile establishments, and pioneer actors all bring you back to a time of beautiful life in Zion and the simple legacy of hard work and industry.

Right in the heart of Nauvoo, near the Nauvoo Temple are three of Nauvoo's finest hotels: The historic Willard Richards Inn, the Woodruff Hotel and the Inn at Nauvoo. These spectacular hotels recreate those special days in early Nauvoo. Above the Zions Mercantile are splendid guest rooms for rent. The Inn at Nauvoo as it is called, are rooms modeled after historic homes from the early days. Due to their limited number they fill up fast. One of the best hotel stays in the area is the Inn at Nauvoo above the Mercantile. The second is the Willard Richards Inn. Once owned by Joseph and Emma smith, this grand country Inn has served guests for over 150 years, including John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Josiah Quincy. Gracious appointments and period décor make this hotel a destination in itself. The Willard Richards Inn is the only hotel located among the historic sites and homes of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and other early Latter-day Saints.

Finally, the Woodruff Hotel located across the street from the Nauvoo Hotel and next door to the Zions Mercantile, has been serving guests since 1870. This magnificent, three-story grand hotel offers luxury accomodations, two-person jetted tubs, upgraded linens and historic period décor. The Woodruff Hotel offers each gues a wonderful experience in the history of Nauvoo.

The Church website recommends that you plan early to come and experience the drama and pageantry of "America's finest and most popular outdoor pageant."
