'17 Miracles' competing with big movies

Director T.C. Christensen’s new film, “17 Miracles,” is doing well at the box office.

“17 Miracles,” which opened June 3, has earned more money per location than movies like “X-Men: First Class,” “Kung Fu Panda 2,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” according to distributor Excel Entertainment, a division of Deseret Book Company. An Excel release reported that “17 Miracles” earned more than $3,200 per location on Monday, while playing on only 12 screens. The national per location average for “X-Men: First Class” was less than $1,600.
