{A&E} New LDS Art

When I think of LDS art I think of the famous portrait of Jesus Christ in his red and white robes by Del Parson (you know, the one hanging in the foyer of every church meetinghouse). This piece, as well as other well-knowns like Arnold Friberg's Book of Mormon paintings, have kind of become the spokespieces for LDS art. While beautiful and classic, there are so many other LDS artists out there that deserve to be known, too.

This weekend, Deseret Book will be featuring the art of some of these talented artists, as well as holding a silent auction (see more details here). Here's a sneak peek at some of the artists and their work:

Lehi's Dream by James C. Christensen

More Priceless Than Pearls by Sandra Rast

Light of the World by Scott Sumner

Balm of Gilead by Annie Henrie

Veneration by Robert A. Boyd
