"Give Them a Hand"

Song: Families Can Be Together Forever (Hymns, 300) Scripture: Malachi 4:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:29; Helaman 10:7; Doctrine and Covenants 2:2

Students will realize the importance of temple work for those on the other side of the veil.

Have one student stand at one end of the room. Have another stand at the opposite end of the room. Explain to the class that they must tie, link, connect, or bind these two students together, but the students are not allowed to move. Ask the class to solve the problem. (If nothing happens, ask on or two outgoing students to link the students together, hoping they will start the human chain by taking the hands of the students at the ends of the room.) Keep asking students to join in until the students at the ends of the room are linked together.

How can we link a person standing here on earth to a person standing on the other side of the veil? (Temple work.) Discuss the importance of each one of us doing our part. We are an important link to our ancestors. Others depend on us; they cannot do it by themselves or for themselves. The Lord has commanded us to do this work.
