‘Mormon Helping Hands’ spruces up valley

About 400 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints painted benches, spread bark, and dug dirt in the annual “Mormon Helping Hands” day of service Saturday.

Wearing yellow vests, the church volunteers fanned out across the valley, with most projects centered in San Jacinto.

“It was a really great service project,” said Krystyne Gray, who handles public affairs for the Hemet stake of the church.
