Belle Lyon, known as Belle Jewel, studied commercial music at BYU for a time before leaving to start her music career. That move seems to have paid off as Jewel just won the Battle Round of NBC's The Voice and is now continuing on to the Knockout Round.

With Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, and Blake Shelton as this season's celebrity coaches, Jewel is on Alicia Keys' team and received considerable praise after her battle with Halle Tomlinson when they sang "Bennie and the Jets."

"You've both risen to the occasion. Your voices are both wonderful, powerful," Keys said before declaring Jewel the winner.

Along with the praise, Keys also had some advice for the 18-year-old artist.

"She told to be just the loudest version of myself and to just be me unapologetically and always express who I am at my fullest capacity," Jewel told the Deseret News. "And that is something I will always carry with me."
