BYU grad tapped to be ambassador to Kuwait

President Barack Obama nominated a Utah native with a lengthy diplomatic résumé on Monday to be the next ambassador of Kuwait.

Matthew H. Tueller currently serves as the deputy chief in the embassy in Cairo. He went to Brigham Young University in the mid-1970s and studied political science, then got a master’s of public policy from Harvard. After school, he decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, Blaine Tueller, and become a U.S. diplomat.
