Brazilian youth excel despite challenges

A quality education is often synonymous with attractive job opportunities — a golden ticket to upward social mobility and perhaps a high-paying job.

But Brother David L. Beck, Young Men general president, would add that there is an essential eternal element to the lifelong pursuit of education. Being well-schooled in the academic disciplines of the world, he teaches, is part of the doctrine of the gospel. Education is a divine principle. The 130th section of the Doctrine and Covenants teaches, "Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection."
