LDS Living's Quick-Bread Recipe Contest: Banana, Zucchini, and Everything in Between

Mormon Life

Is your grandma’s zucchini bread divine? Is your pumpkin bread recipe a gold-standard? Is your banana bread recipe enough to make people go, well, bananas?

Share your quick bread favorites with us, whether it’s a recipe you’ve modified or a time-honored family favorite. Whatever the flavor may be, quick bread recipes are tasty staples for chefs of all experience levels. But with so many options, we want to know what your best recipe is.

Who knows, your recipe could go down in the LDS Living Hall of Fame along with White Chicken Chili and the Lemon Crinkle Cookie.

Here are the rules (you must abide by each for your recipe to be considered):

1) Recipes must be original. Renaming other recipes simply won’t do; we’re looking for your best recipes. Family recipes are great, and if you’ve improved on a commercial recipe until it’s totally your own, then that’s okay too.
2) Recipes must be some form of quick bread. Though your recipe must be a quick bread (defined as any bread leavened with something other than yeast, such as baking powder or baking soda, including muffins, scones, cornbread, etc.), you can be bold—if your recipe is unique, it has a better chance of standing out. Think outside the box: frosting, added crumbs on top or alternative forms of muffins. Creativity is rewarded!

3) Submit the recipe with your full name, e-mail address, home city and state, and a valid daytime phone number by Friday, August 12, 2016.

(LDS Living will only use this information in the event that you win; we will not use it for marketing or other purposes.)

If you have a photo of your recipe, please submit it, but none are required.

Submit your information and recipe HERE, or email recipes to editor@ldsliving.com.

We will be testing and ranking the recipes after we receive them. The top recipe will get a $100 Deseret Book gift card, and all winners will be featured along with the runners-up in a future issue of LDS Living magazine!

*By submitting your recipe, you are giving LDS Living the right to publish it on our website and/or in our magazine.
