Women need to talk to each other. Whether it’s on the sidelines of the soccer field, in book clubs or during exercise class, we all need a daily dose of chat time.

Unless entirely embroiled in gossip, even quick conversations are rarely benign and both women come away better with new ideas, new appreciations and/or a sense of camaraderie.

I love women with quick wit who make me laugh. I love women who practice great restraint in order to be a good listener. And I am entirely impressed with women who can quote great literature on a moment’s notice to make a relevant point.
