First LDS temple in Connecticut moving forward (+sketch)

Plans for Connecticut’s first temple of the Church of Latter-day Saints in Farmington are moving forward with site preparation expected to commence this summer. The site is just off Route 4 in Farmington, directly opposite the entrance to Devonwood and the Winding Trails Recreation Center. Last year, the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved the application and zone change for a 35,000-square-foot, white granite temple, topped by a tall steeple on 11 acres, at the corner of Melrose Drive and Farmington Avenue.
