Hawkeyes football player on a mission and has another in mind

Tony Moeaki hasn't served his Mormon mission, but he has been tested. That's still an option later in life if the Iowa tight end wants it. He might also stay busy playing Sundays in the NFL.

Moeaki -- once a high school all-American at Wheaton Warrenville South -- now has the perspective of a fifth-year senior. Even if his career hasn't gone exactly as planned, he can still make it right.

"(Once) I committed going into college football, it's tough to go on a mission and come back and basically start over again," Moeaki said Tuesday morning at Big Ten media day. "It's two years (and) I just thought I was ready to play. I just wanted to jump in right away."
