As a young adult, there were times when Sheri Dew lacked confidence and felt inadequate. But after she received a leadership calling from her bishop, that all started to change. During this time, Dew gained confidence in her role and the experience was a pivotal moment for her growth, KSL reported.
Dew, the executive vice president of Deseret Management Corporation and chief executive officer of Deseret Book Company, spoke at the Utah Women and Leadership Project on January 22. Sharing her experience in management roles, she gave advice for women interested in similar positions. She also focused on the importance of having both men and women in leadership positions make decisions together in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The former Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency from 1997 to 2002, Dew said that faith and prayer have been anchors for her as she has encountered challenges in her career like feelings of shyness and imposter syndrome.
“I've spent a lot of time on my knees pleading for help, pleading for insight and inspiration and strength and courage,” she said.
