Although Bronco Mendenhall and his coaching staff started developing a contingency plan for it a year ago, Saturday’s announcement from LDS Church General Conference that the church is lowering the minimum missionary age from 19 to 18 for young men momentarily threw the coach for a 5-yard loss. "When I heard it, from right there, I was thinking, OK, now this, this, this, this and this [will have to be figured out]," Mendenhall said. "Hard to concentrate on the rest of the talks for a while."
