LDS volunteers serve on U.S. Navy hospital ship

I could write about all of them, but space allows me to tell you about just two of the 80 LDS volunteers who served aboard the USNS Mercy this past summer.

The Mercy is one of two U.S. Navy hospital ships decked out with 12 operating suites and all the emergency room, radiology, laboratory and patient services found at any major hospital. The ship recently completed a five-nation goodwill voyage to southeast Asia.

I had just a glimpse of a similar mission when I spent four days aboard the sister ship USNS Comfort in the Caribbean in 2009. So I'll let Emily Dougall, RN, and Lynette Thunstrom, RN, tell you about their tender mission of mercy that changed others' lives as well as their own.
