Beginning July 15, 2013, the Personal Ancestral File (PAF) software will be retired and will no longer be available for download or support. PAF began in 1984 and since that time, over 3.2 million copies have been distributed. It filled an important need and helped bridge from the completely paper world of genealogy to the modern online, collaborative world of FamilySearch.org, with its new Family Tree in multiple languages.
