Majority faithful after Kirtland crisis

The Kirtland bank crisis of the mid-1830s is often regarded as extremely divisive in the Church, but a paper presented at the Religious Education Student Symposium Feb. 17 indicates that a significant majority of those who invested in the failed Kirtland Safety Society remained faithful, despite having lost money.
