Mormon Helping Hands cleanup after Sandy

Members and missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided assistance this weekend to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Local Church leaders are planning significant disaster relief efforts, organized on both a local and regional level in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.Church leaders have set up a command post in a Church building in New Jersey, and are in the process of setting up smaller command centers at up to six other buildings in the region. Organizers at the command post will help distribute food, water and other emergency supplies to those in need.
