Movies that honor the message of Christmas

Somewhere in all the mayhem of shopping, wrapping, decorating, baking and gathering, the true Christmas spirit can be lost.

Watching Christmas movies as a family can remind us of the reason for our celebrations. ​The following movies are particularly good at keeping the focus on what's most important.

“A Christmas Carol”: No Christmas movie collection would be complete without this Charles Dickens classic. Seemingly redone more years than not, the more than 50 video renditions of lead character Ebenezer Scrooge have been played by ​Alastair Slim (1951, 1971), Tim Curry (1997), Michael Caine (1992), George C. Scott (1984), Bill Murray (1988), Jim Carrey (2009), Scrooge McDuck (1983) and Barbie (2008), just to name a few.
