Mud relief: Service with a smile

Hailstones were still visible in mud — two days after a storm that triggered a mudslide — as volunteers pitched one shovelful after another out of Jacobs Ranch basements in Saratoga Springs.

Eleven homes were significantly damaged, and two more received some sort of interior damage, according to Saratoga Springs Utah South Stake President Ronald B. Edwards. As of 9 p.m. Sept. 3, the last bit of mud was cleared from the homes affected by the disaster.
