New Jersey Newspaper Features Efforts of Missionaries throughout the State

Six days a week, more than a dozen Mormon missionaries set out to walk or bike countless miles through Mercer County, spending their days seeking converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Their work, though, is not for the fainthearted — they have been cursed at, told to take a hike and have had doors slammed in their faces more times than they care to remember.

But the missionaries trudge on.

“You just have to go with faith to the next one ... that you’ll be able to help even one soul,” said Sister Kaylese Holyoak, 21, who is from Mesa, Ariz.
