Odds and Ends: Mormons seeking to do good

With the eyes of the nation on presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Mormons everywhere, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are seeking to serve and do good.

In the neighboring states of Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, governors of the three states joined with the LDS Church and other faiths in declaring Sept. 29 to be a day of service. They hope the regional effort will unite members different faiths, the nonprofit community and Virginia’s food banks in collecting food donations for those in need.
