LDS blogger, mom, and Relief Society President Ashley Phipps recently traveled along a 690-mile yard sale spanning from Addison, Michigan, to Gadsen, Alabama, to put her designing skills to good use.

In a service project sponsored by GMC, several bloggers were given a little under $300 to furnish rooms in a Habitat for Humanity Home. The bloggers scoured the 127 Corridor Sale, the world's longest yard sale, in order to find the perfect materials to build a comfortable and stylish home for a family in need.

About this experience, Phipps told Lexington 18 News:

"Honestly I love to serve and help those around me, so this is the best way that I can spend my time. . . .
“We’ve come on this really fun adventure, but that’s what makes it really worth it. I mean the shopping and the finding things is really fun, but I feel like that’s what’s rewarding to actually help somebody.”
