Police identify suspected LDS Church building BASE jumpers

Police say public tips helped them identify the men who parachuted off the LDS Church office building on Friday. However, since the crimes involved are only misdemeanors police are not sure if they will actually arrest the suspects.

Salt Lake City Police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Josephson is hoping for cooperation from the suspects to resolve the incident. "We won't release their names until we screen charges. We would hope the individuals would come forward and help us with the investigation so we can resolve this as quickly as possible." Sgt. Josephson says police haven't made any arrests because they are still investigating, the immediate danger is behind us and all the possible charges - trespassing, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace are misdemeanors.
