President Eyring and Uchtdorf Testify of President Monson's Goodness on His Birthday: Your Example Will Be a Guiding Star

On August 21, 2017, President Thomas S. Monson turned 90 years old, having served for 54 years as an apostle and prophet of the Lord.

While many have offered our beloved prophet birthday wishes, Presidents Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uchtdorf shared special messages that testify of the goodness of our beloved prophet.

President Eyring shared:

With all who love him, I wish President Thomas S Monson greetings on his 90th birthday. His faith and his concern for all of Heavenly Father’s children have brought joy and peace to people across the world. He is the Lord’s prophet, and he is our great example of a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to serve under his inspired leadership. Happy birthday, President Monson.

President Uchtdorf shared:

Happy 90th birthday, dear President Thomas S Monson. With millions of friends from all walks of life and from all around the globe, Harriet and I join in the chorus of praise and celebration of our dear prophet, whom we love and sustain, and of whom it can be said, “He went about doing good.”
Harriet and I cherish the wonderful experiences we have had while accompanying you on different assignments throughout the years. Your spiritual guidance has given us divine direction, and your down-to-earth humor and wit, memorable stories, and encouraging comments have blessed us all.
Your example of goodness and faith in action has led us through decades and will be a guiding star for many years to come. President Monson, you are indeed a true and loyal friend of God and of your fellowmen. What a privilege it is to know you and to serve with you in this great and marvelous work of the Church of Jesus Christ. Blessings to you on this special day and always.
