Mitt Romney and Stephen R. Covey are joining Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak as keynote speakers for the Convenience Retailing Conference in early February.

Convenience Store/Petroleum News announced Romney as an exciting addition to the conference's schedule.

"We're thrilled to have Mitt join us," said David Jobe, president of CSP's Leadership Conferences & Events Division. "The opportunity to have a presidential candidate address the concerns, issues and opportunities around our industry, including Q&A is excellent--this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

The conference is schedule for February 11-13 in San Antonio, Texas. Attendees will learn business and leadership skills, and marketing strategy.

A CSP News article said Wozniak will talk about the beginnings of the Apple company and how personal passion and drive can influence the success of a start-up business. Covey will discuss the habits he authored in "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People." The article says he believes those habits are essential to success in the workplace, but also in each individual's family and home life.

Covey was key to securing Romney as a contributor to the conference. He described his reasoning for why Romney will be an asset to the conference line-up.

"With Mitt Romney, I see him as a person of such unusual character strengths and also such a strategic, brilliant mind, that I feel that he kind of embodies these principles (discussed in Covey's book) that are universal and timeless, and I think he would totally revolutionize what takes place in Washington," he said. "I also think he's a great collaborator with a great ability to tap into the capacity of other people and produce third, alternative solutions rather than 'my way or your way.' And to me, that's one of the great needs we have today."
