SPONSORED: Auditions for Merrill Osmond’s "Youth Pioneer Pageant"

(West Jordan, UT) – Auditions for Merrill Osmond’s Youth Pioneer Pageant are set for May 14-15 from 5-9 p.m. at Concordia Preparatory School, 12723 S. Park Ave., Riverton. This amazing musical celebration has roles for children ages 7 and up.

The Youth Pioneer Pageant tells the story of the trials, tribulations and joy experienced by the pioneers, and runs July 22-24 in the West Jordan Arena, 8035 S. 2200 West, West Jordan. Cast members must be available for rehearsals June 12-29, July 11-24, and for all performances (excluding Sundays).

Youth should come to the auditions prepared with a short monologue if auditioning for main character roles. If auditioning for the role of Brother Brigham, come prepared to sing a 30-second song. For cast dancing and singing, come prepared with a 30-second dance routine and a 30-second song.

The Youth Pioneer Pageant is written and produced by Merrill Osmond, world-renowned entertainer, singer and songwriter, and has been performed for thousands of attendees throughout the country. The West Jordan Arena is now home to this musical spectacular. Tickets for the pageant are on sale at UtahPioneerDays.com and range in price from $8 for youth and seniors, to $10 for adults.

Four Utahns who are “pioneers of Utah’s legacy” will also be honored during the Youth Pioneer Pageant including former KSL news anchor Dick Nourse, former U.S. Senator Jake Garn, and Virl and Tom Osmond.

Proceeds from this charity fundraiser benefit the Olive Osmond Hearing Fund where many deaf children will receive the gift of hearing.

This year’s pageant is part of an even bigger event, Utah Pioneer Days, which includes an authentic Pioneer Jubilee July 23-24 in West Jordan’s Veterans Memorial Park, 8030 S. 1825 West.
