Saints sing 'Happy Birthday' to President Monson

The groundbreaking for a a new Mormon temple in Farmington was not the only occasion Latter-day Saints celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Farmington Avenue/Melrose Drive site. President Thomas S. Monson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who made a rare appearance to dedicate the Hartford area temple, is turning 86 on Aug. 21. The 16th president of the Church visited Farmington three years ago and chose it as the ideal place for a new Mormon temple.
