Should missionaries blog?

Last year I asked, "Should missionaries blog?" I exclaimed "Yes" and then proceeded to provide a list of pros and cons about how missionaries could use blogs to keep in touch with families, but warned to be aware of privacy issues. In this latest installment, I have additional caveats and I again use Dr. B's Mormon Missionary Blog that recently provided "A Bit of Advice on Missionary Blogs" to look at whether or not missionaries should blog.

Missionary blogs have grown since I last posted on the subject.

"About four months ago, there were about 50 missionary blogs with about six mission president blogs," Dr. B said. "Today, that number has increased to well over 200 missionary blogs with about 20 mission presidents blogging. There are probably dozens more, but I haven't located them yet."

I expect this to continue to grow as missionaries, mission presidents and families with missionaries continue to use blogging to both share mission experiences and spread missionary work.
