Speaking Tips (from the TOFW Presenters)

How many of you have ever been asked to give a talk, speak in front of a large crowd, or teach a class? I’m sure you’ll agree that the preparing or presenting can be a difficult thing (and if you’re one of those lucky few who feel it’s a breeze—then share your tips with us!) For the next few blog posts, we’ve decided to share with you some of the tips our presenters use as they begin preparing to speak—whether it be for TOFW, a fireside, or some other setting! Here’s a sneak peak at just a few ideas they’ll be sharing:

1. Never start with an apology. Start strong. (Wendy Ulrich)

2. Maintain eye contact. Even when I need to read from an outline or scripture, I try to look down only briefly so listeners know I am speaking TO them and not AT them. (Brad Wilcox)
