The mother of an apostle: Alice Holland teaches by example

At 94, Alice Holland counts four children, 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren among her accomplishments.

Although Holland downplays the role she has played in the lives of her descendants, Debbie Millet, her youngest child, says her mother taught them by example.

Among members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alice is known as the mother of an apostle. Her second child, Jeffrey, is better known to LDS faithful as Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

...Yet Alice humbly claims to have had no influence on her son's position.
