Virginia stake's youth group's 'Helping Hands' reach to Afghanistan

When U.S. Air Force Maj. Marc Adair, a member of the Burke Ward, Annandale Virginia Stake, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, in April 2011 as part of the Headquarters International Security Assistance Force, he began to participate in various ecumenical humanitarian projects in the area.

One project called for collecting supplies for 400 children enrolled in the government’s Sitara Kindergarten/Primary school. He felt it was an opportunity for those in the Burke Ward to help the children.
