On December 17, following the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Music and the Spoken Word, "America's Choir" sang a personalized "Happy Birthday" to the director of the latest Star Wars episode, Rian Johnson.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir had their special Christmas concert guests perform during the Sunday program, including Sutton Foster, who is married to screenwriter Ted Griffin. After the performance, Griffin sent the special birthday wishes to Johnson from all the performers at the Conference Center, according to the Deseret News:

Happy Birthday to #RianJohnson from me, #suttonlfoster, #hughbon and #MoTab! (And watch for this year's Christmas concert on PBS...at some point.) pic.twitter.com/xR7kqdW2gJ — Ted Griffin (@TedMGriffin) December 17, 2017

Johnson replied, “This is the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I have no idea how he pulled this off, but I highly recommend everyone have a friend in their life like Ted Griffin."
